Runnymeade
Runnymeade is our lowland marsh where wetland species of plants grow and acquatic creatures lie hidden in the sodden damps, including frogs, turtles, crayfish, and other moisture loving friends. Redwing blackbirds and meadowlarks make this area their summer home. The springs in Runnymeade form the headwaters of Crooked Run which flows through the Crooked Run Valley to join Goose Creek at Delaplane and ultimately the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay.
